The Former Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Sani Sotonye Okiri is dead.
The Rivers born Muslim died during the early hours of Sunday after battling with brain tumour.
Sani served as the state Sole Administrator of the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board for eight years during the governorship tenure of Rotimi Amaechi.
The state Islamic Leader and Vice President-General, Rivers State Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Nasir Awhelebe Uhor had also confirmed to our correspondent that the late Sani Okiri had since been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
He described Sani Okiri as a good Muslim who always worked towards the promotion of Islam.
Uhor prayed Allah to grant his soul eternal rest while urging all Muslims in the state to emulate the exemplary lifestyle of the deceased.
