The Rivers State commissioner of education, Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja, has reminded heads of schools and Proprietors to endeavour to register and obtain their RivEMIS IDs before the end of the month, November 2018.
Heads of schools/ proprietors of schools are expected to come with:
1. Approved building permit
2. Evidence of payment.
3. Evidence of renewal of approval.
4. CAC registration evidence.
The commissioner said, any school that does not have all of the above-mentioned documents, are operating illegally and the school will be clamped down.
It will be recalled that the Rivers State commissioner of education had urged all schools operating in the state to register and obtain their RivEMIS ID ( Rivers State education management information system identification), to improve service delivery in the state’s education sector.
The RivEMIS platform will amongst other services manage the following:
1. Registration and approval of private schools.
2. Registration of students and pupils on all state-wide examinations.
3. Management and issuance of certificate (BECE ).
4. management and issuance of transfer certificates
5. Students enrollment in both private and public schools.
6. Management of continuous assessment.
7. Management of complaints and feedbacks from members of the public.
8. Publication of approved schools, list of books, etc.
To this end, all heads and proprietors of both public and approved private schools respectively, are hereby directed as follows:
Log on to http://rivemis.riversstate.gov.ng to confirm their schools on the platform.
All private schools to visit Room 756, ministry of education, 7th floor, podium block, state Secretariat complex between the hours of 9am and 3pm (Monday to Friday) to collect their RivEMIS ID to activate their RivEMIS account in order to access to various services on the platform.
All public schools to visit their respective board or Rivers State ministry of education to collect their RivEMIS to activate their RivEMIS account in order to have access to various services on the platform.
All unapproved schools operating in the state are expected to register and apply for approval on the platform immediately.
