Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, son of late business mogul and philanthropist, High Chief Olu Benson Lulu-Briggs, was on Saturday installed as the Paramount Head of Oruwari Briggs War Canoe House of Abonnema.
The installation ceremony was performed by the Amanyanabo of Abonnema, his majesty, Disrael Gbobo Bob-Manuel, and the Abonnema Council of Chiefs at the Oruwari Briggs Memorial Hall, Abonema.
This was preceded by the screening of Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, who was presented before the Abonnema Council of Chiefs at the Abonnema Town Hall.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the installation ceremony, Lulu-Briggs expressed gratitude to God for being considered worthy to step into the shoes of his ancestors as the Paramount Head of Oruwari Group of Houses of Abonnema.
Chief Lulu-Briggs took the celebration further on Sunday to St. Augustine’s Anglican Church, Abonnema where a thanksgiving service was held in his honor.
In a statement, he reiterated his commitment to serve in the best capacity of the position he has been bestowed with.
“I understand that every position attained by man, whether traditional, political, or religious, is a call to serve. By the special grace of God, I will do my very best to provide leadership that will be about peace and progress in Abonnema and beyond.”
The installation is coming months after the burial of his father, High Chief Olu Benson Lulu-Briggs, who died on the 27th of December, 2018.
