A 40-yr-old defendant, Ambrose Owiriwa on Thursday cried profusely in court when he heard that his sister, Florence Owiriwa later died as a result of the beating he gave her.
The defendant was accused of beating up three of his sisters on the same day and place.
The three sisters are Happiness Owiriwa, Florence Owiriwa and Queen Owiriwa.
Ambrose was alleged to have bitten the left ear of Happiness with his teeth, struck the face of Florence with locally made tripod iron stove and stabbed Queen with a broken bottle on her leg.
While the defendant was remanded in prison custody, his three victim sisters were in the hospital receiving treatment but became unfortunate for Florence who later died from internal bleeding.

The defendant whose first arraignment was in November 2019, was denied bail on the ground that the offences upon which he was brought to court were not bailable.
The presiding Chief Magistrate, Chinelo Odili in Port Harcourt, however, ordered that the case file be transmitted to the state director of public prosecution for advice.
According to the three count charges slammed on the weeping defendant by the police in charge number: PMC2127c/2019, Ambrose was accused of committing the offences at No: 3 Kpaluku Street, Oroworukwo in Port Harcourt on November 5, 2019.
It reads in part: “That you Ambrose Owiriwa (m) with intent to disfigure did cause grievous harm to one Happiness Owiriwa (f) by biting off her left ear which caused her harm and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 332 (1) of the criminal code cap 37 vol. 11 Laws of Rivers State, 1999.
“That you Ambrose Owiriwa with intent to disfigure did cause grievous harm to one Florence Owiriwa (f) by beaten her on the face with locally made tripod iron stove which caused her harm and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 332 (1) of the criminal code cap 37 vol. 11 Laws of Rivers State, 1999.
“That you Ambrose Owiriwa did unlawfully cause grievous harm to one Queen Owiriwa (f) by stabbing her with a broken bottle on her right leg which caused her harm and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 335 of the criminal code cap 37 vol. 11 Laws of Rivers State, 1999.”
