The residents of Owhipa in Choba, Port Harcourt have decried the incessant robbery attacks in the area.
Speaking to our correspondent, one of the residents, Chinedu Amadi, said it is disheartening the way the robbers attack residents of the area. The most recent of which is the robbery against a newly wedded couple who had just returned from their honeymoon but were accosted by the notorious robbers and stripped of all their valuables.
In a separate development, some students living at the area have lamented that they may be forced to change their location as the place is no longer comfortable for habitation due to the fear of robbery and other traumatizing experiences.
It is important to note that Choba community is where the University of Port Harcourt is situated and as such, many vices are experienced on a daily basis. A tenant who pleaded anonymity has maintained that the robbers only target the non-indigenes.
According to her, those who bear the brunt of the the robbery attack in the area have always been the tenants and not the landlords and as a result of this,the tenants have decided to take actions so as to avoid the ugly incidence from repeating itself.
