A fire outbreak at a building housing an electrical appliances showroom on Saturday afternoon has left residents resorting to self-help as several calls made to both the state and federal fire service stations were not responded to.
This comes few hours after a tanker loaded with fuel fell and bursted into flames at Rukpokwu on Friday night.
Rescuers said there was no recorded casualty but goods worth millions were damaged due to the raging inferno.
Those directly affected by the fire told our correspondent that calls made to Federal and state fire service stations were not helpful as the fire personnel told them that they do not have trucks to make the rescue to forcing them to manually strive to quench the fire.
The cause of the fire is not yet known as at the time of filing this report.
The fire outbreaks that occurred less than 24 hours between each other have raised major concerns over Nigeria’s state of emergency response.
