The Chairman of Degema Local Government Area, Tony Philmoore, has said Bakana and Ogurama will begin to enjoy uninterrupted power supply before the end of this year.
The Council chair stated this while briefing his predecessors on the state of the LGA in his office in Degema on Tuesday 12-Oct-2019.
He said his council had acquired through a public-private partnership, the technology to generate, transmit and distribute electricity to end-users in Bakana and Oguruama.
He added that the site for the installation of the prefabricated plant was ready and the technology partners on their way to begin the installation.

Dr. Philmoore also said his administration was committed to its free tertiary education programme and would commence payment after harmonizing records with the schools, having done with the crucial phase of identification and verification.
Briefing them further on the state of the LGA, Dr Philmoore echoed his resolve to tackle insecurity, stating that he had procured the cooperation of soldiers stationed in the LGA to escort Bille passenger boats to and from Port Harcourt on daily basis.
Philmoore reiterated his earlier promise to make the Yuletide peaceful, secure and safe for both sea and road travellers.
Ex Mayors of the LGA had expressed satisfaction with the leadership style of Dr Philmoore and declared their support and loyalty to his administration.
Spokesman of the former chairmen, Mr Harvest Harry, said they were particularly pleased with the chairman for his signature project, the free tertiary education programme, and commended him for the bold step while describing the programme as unprecedented.
He congratulated Dr Philmoore on his foresight to invest in independent power project that would provide constant electricity for Bakana and Oguruama.
Mr Harvest Harry urged Dr Philmoore to bolster the security architecture in Degema LGA, especially as the Yuletide approaches in order to checkmate unwholesome security breaches during the end of year celebrations.
