Spokesman of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Uchenna Madu, has described Asari Dokubo’s alleged claim of having a private security outfit that can protect President Bola Tinubu as a slap on the federal government and the Nigerian military.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, Uchenna Madu said Asari, by his statement, is only seeking relevance and should not be taken seriously.
He further claimed that the former Niger Delta activist does not have followership even in his native Ijaw Land and the South-South geo-political zone but only hides under the guise of agitation to enrich himself.
“Dokubo and his likes are using the agitation platform to enrich themselves. So, Dokubo saying he wants to provide personal or private security for Alhaji Bola Tinubu is one of his many ways of making himself relevant as if he is somebody.
“He has no militia group; he has nobody. Go to Ijaw Land today, to the South-South; nobody is following him. Some people are so self-centred to the extent of mismanaging the opportunity of privilege given to them,” he said.
Mr Madu said Asari’s statement is an indictment on the federal government and its security apparatus, adding that Nigerians should not take them seriously.
“And for him to say he wants to provide private security for the president is a slap on the
Nigerian security apparatus. It shows they are not doing anything.
“Dokubo has said that Tinubu is his father. So, I think two of them are playing in the same lane. People should not listen to Dokubo Asari.
“Whatever he’s doing, his master and father are aware. It’s a huge slap to the Nigerian government and the Nigerian military apparatus.”
