The All Progressives Congress in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State has accused Governor Nyesom Wike of demolishing waterfronts in Port Harcourt to depopulate Okrikans.

In an interview with our correspondent, an APC chieftain in Okrika, Adokiye Ogbara said, “Port Harcourt is made up of Ikwerre and Okrika.

“Ikwerre has 16 wards while Okrika has four wards.

“Since the inception of PHALGA chairmanship, no Okrika man has been elected as chairman.

“The Ikwerres have been using their higher wards to dominate PHALGA election at our deterrent.

“Today, the four wards owned by Okrikans have the highest human population in Port Harcourt.

“Wike knows that with time, the four wards we have will soon be dominating PHALGA election.

“So, all he (Wike) is doing now is to demolish waterfronts owned by Okrikans to depopulate us.

“If he (Wike) is demolishing waterfronts to reduce crime and criminality, why is he not demolishing those Ikwerre unload areas with criminal records?

“We urge Okrikans to open their eyes now and resist this political move by Wike to depopulate us in Port Harcourt.”
