Following the recent attacks, killings and beheading by suspected cultists in some part of communities in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, women from Alakahia community have taken steps to end cult violence in the area.
The Alakahia women as part of an effort to bring to an end cult-related violence organized prayers session to invoke the wrath of God against cultists and their sponsors.
Our correspondent was in the community and reports that the women after praying at the community town hall also paraded around the junctions and community playgrounds barefooted with brooms in their hands as a sign of wiping away criminal elements in the area.
BEATRICE REAL-AGBARAKA and QUEENETH AMADI-BONIFACE who spoke on behalf of Alakahia women said they are worried about the recent insecurity in the community that, adding that that is why they decided to cry out to God for intervention.
Our respondents said the women are seeking for God’s revival on their children and strangers who genuinely want to repent from wicked ways but wipe away those who still want to spill blood in the land.
They also warned those involved in cultism to have a rethink or be ready to face the vengeance of God.
Recall that the Youth body in Akpor Kingdom and the police Area command have commenced sensitization of young people on the ills cultism following the recent clashes that have taken several lives in communities before the intervention by the women.
