The Akpor Grammar School Old Boy’s Association International has expressed the need to continually uplift members to a greater height in society.
The President General of Akpor Grammer School Old Boy’s Association International, LUCKY WORLU said this during its 2021 6th International Conference of the association in Port Harcourt.
LUCKY WORLU said the theme of this year’s conference which is Reinventing Civil Society in the New Normal, The Role of Welfare and Empowerment is the reason why they have decided to ensure their old school members get lifting hands from those who are well to do in the society.
The Chairman of the occasion, EMMANUEL OKAS WIKE said the importance of the event is to meet with old students, old teachers and other staff members after a long while.
EMMANUEL OKAS WIKE who is the President of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers also said the event also targeted at helping the association to notice, appreciate and as well relate with the changes and developments that have taken place in the school then and now.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the association, Dr FYNEFACE AKAH during an interview with journalists commended the leadership of the association for their efforts towards the moves to change the lives of some members for good and the development of the association.
A lecture was given by Dr SUNNY IGWE titled ‘small and medium enterprise, a solution to unemployment challenges in Nigeria’, while some prominent personalities were decorated and celebrated including old, active and ex-students.
