Ahoada East Chairman, Ben Eke, has been receiving knocks on social media for handing over Dugout Boats/Paddles to Ekpena and Odiemude Community in the LGA.
But a statement from the chairman’s office said the chairman was fulfilling his campaign promises.
The statement said the chairman donated the boats to enable farmers in both communities to carry their products from the farm to their homes and neighbouring communities.
But social media users disagree. Although some said the gesture was a noble one, they said the uproar was due to badly managed PR.
Meanwhile somewhere in Rivers State the Chairman of Ahoada East LGA, Ben Eke, handed over Dugout Boats & Paddles to Ekpena and Odiemude Community as part of his empowerment scheme.

A local government council chairman in Rivers State today gave out two hand pulling canoe boats to two communities in his LGA.
This can only happen in a state governed by Wike. pic.twitter.com/FAFIlgacCp
