Youths in Abonnema in Akuku-Toru local government area have taken to the streets to protest the incessant killings of youths by the men of the 130 battalions of the Nigerian Army.
The youths said that the killings by the army have resulted in many deaths, asking the army to stop the killings or they will be forced to retaliate.
This is as a father of two was shot thrice when the army invaded a relation joint in the area on Wednesday last week.
The army gave no reasons for the shooting. However, the man died while being taken to the University Of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital Choba.
The Protesters marched to the headquarters of the Akuku-Toru Local Government where they met with the local government chairman, Rowland Sekibo.
Mr Sekibo, however, promised to write relevant authorities who would wade into the matter.
He also urged the youths not to take laws into their hands but allow a peaceful resolution of the matter.
