About eight persons have been killed in Okporowo community of Ogbakiri in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State after a cult group unleashed assaults on each other.
Local sources said the victims and their killers were members of the same cult group.
They said the clash was between older and new members.
They said the new members chased their older members away from the area in the bid to be in charge of the group after dispossessing them of their guns.
They claimed the old members were not vibrant enough.

The sources said the old members of the cult group had returned to the community to take back their position in the group before the clash ensure, adding that the shooting began on Friday night and claimed the lives of over eight people.
Nnamdi Omoni, Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, confirmed the incident, saying that six and not eight persons died.
He said police officers have been mobilised to the troubled area and calm has been restored.
