Port Harcourt Pastor who refused to wed couple for being 5 minutes late dies

Two weeks ago, we brought you the story of a popular pastor in Port Harcourt who went viral for his refusal to join a couple in holy matrimony for coming 5 minutes late to their wedding service. Report reaching the Port city news is that the pastor is dead.

Pastor Essa Ogorry, the senior pastor and founder of Fulfilling Word Foundation, located at Dr Peter Odilli road has been declared dead.

According to some of the church members who took to their social media handles to share their grief, the pastor on Sunday, held a memorial service in his late wife’s honour only to die yesterday, the 16th of February 2021 which is the same day his wife passed on a year ago.

As at the time of filling this report, the cause of his death is yet to be known.

Okonjo-Iweala appointed first woman DG of WTO

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was confirmed as director-general of the World Trade Organization on Monday, becoming the first woman and the first African to lead the global trade body.

Okonjo-Iweala was appointed by the WTO after the last remaining rival candidate, South Korean trade minister Yoo Myung-hee, withdrew from the race. She will take up her post on March 1, initially for a term that runs until August 2025.

An economist and former finance minister of Nigeria, Okonjo-Iweala enjoyed broad support from WTO members including the European Union, China, Japan and Australia. The United States, under the Trump administration, had favored Yoo.
