The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has joined the House of Representatives’ in the call for the sack of service chiefs in the country.
The service chiefs include are: Chief of Defence Staff, Abayomi Olonisakin; Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai; Chief of Naval Staff, Ibok-Ete Ibas and Chief of Air Staff, Sadiq Abubakar.
They were appointed in July 2015 have superintended over Nigeria’s worst security situations, eroding gains made in the fight against terrorism.
The oil union, in a statement, signed by its General Secretary, Lumumba Okugbawa, said the service chiefs have failed in their duties to “tackle the rising wave of criminality and alarming increase of insecurity” in the country.

According to the union, the growing rate of insecurity in the country has become a nightmare.
“We cannot continue to guarantee the current industrial peace in our sector should there be no improvement on the part of the federal government in arresting this trend as recorded in 2019,” the statement said.
Last week, the Nigerian Senate and House of Representatives, urged the president to sack the service chiefs, as insecurity: killings, kidnappings seem to have been on the rise with mosque bombed and some Christian leaders beheaded in the northern parts of the country.
