The Rivers State House of Assembly says it will not relent in ensuring that justice is given to all marginalized host communities of oil and gas companies in the state.
The adhoc committee which was set up by the Rivers State House of Assembly to look into a petition by Ogbele, Obumeze and Oshuigboko communities against the Niger Delta Petroleum Resources, NDPR, stated this after a meeting with the host communities at the assembly complex on Wednesday.
The chairman of the committee, Major Jack, told journalists that the committee will do its best to alleviate the sufferings of the host communities in the state.
House of Assembly Correspondent reports that the EzeUpata of Upata Kingdom, Felix Oluwarikpo, during the meeting, maintained that his people want justice and an end to alleged marginalization by the Niger Delta Petroleum Resources.
