The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED) says it will provide uninterrupted electricity supply to its customers in Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River and Rivers during the Easter holidays.
PHED’s Chief Executive Officer, Naveen Kapoor, gave the assurance in a statement issued by the company’s Manager of Corporate Communications, John Onyi, on Wednesday in Port Harcourt.
Kapoor was quoted as saying that arrangements had been concluded to ensure that customers enjoy the best of holidays.
“All customers-interfacing staff are expected to be extremely dedicated with a view to achieving customers’ satisfaction, especially during the Easter holidays.
“To this end, a 24-hour technical surveillance team has been put on standby, to ensure that the service lines are completely free from faults.
“However, in the event of any faults occurring, such faults would be promptly cleared,” he said.
Kapoor urged customers to report faults or lack of supply to the nearest PHED offices.
He called on customers to reciprocate the company’s efforts by paying their electricity bills promptly.
“Payment of their electricity bill will encourage PHED to do more in terms of network expansion and provision of electrical materials, among others.
“We are not leaving any stone unturned to ensure that customers celebrate the holidays with steady power supply. This is why we strategically dedicated our technical team for prompt fault-clearing,” he said.
Kapoor said that customers on prepaid meters could recharge them over the internet by visiting www.phed.com.ng, and clicking on payment icon.
According to him, postpaid customers could also make payments by dialing *322*1*860001*Amount# on their mobile devices.
