A number of female Saudi millionaires have offered large millions to attract husbands, according to a HuffPost report.
Hessah, a 40-year-old who was included in the report, expressed her desire to be married. She said her father’s “cheap” ways meant she was left unmarried however since she has inherited a lot of money following his death; she has been looking to marry someone who respects her.
In 2012, Saudi magazine Roa published a story of a Saudi woman who offered five million riyals ($1.33 million) to Mr. Right who “must appreciate marriage life and marital duties”.
In October 2014, a UAE news site reported that thousands of men proposed to a millionaire Saudi businesswoman who announced that she was looking to get married on Twitter.
“I am a divorcee. without children, I am looking for a man to love me. I have 100 million riyals [$26.7 million] which I inherited from my father, and I have a company that I manage. I am 39 years old,” she wrote in her post.
However, in February 2007 a Saudi millionairess, with a wealth of more than seven million riyals ($1.87 million) claimed to be ugly and poor in the hope that someone would marry her for her personality not her looks and money.
