Bottles of Coca Cola which fell off the conveying truck caused hours long gridlock at the Eastern Bypass on Saturday.
The truck, in a bid to maneuver through a set of waiting vehicles, discharged almost half of its contents on the road causing long queues of cars.
Motorists began frantic attempts to turn around but ended up locking up the bypass and adjoining roads entirely for hours.
A woman, on her way to the hospital, who was caught in the web of traffic gridlock described it as a horror and said that she felt she would die.
Although, no officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps were seen at the scene, passers-by helped to reload the bottles into the vehicle leading to the flow of traffic.
