The Rivers State Government has reiterated its commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery across the state. This assurance came from the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adaeze Chidinma Oreh, during a free medical outreach held on Monday, December 8, 2025, at the Primary Health Care Centre, Adanta Isiokpo.
The outreach, organized by the Chief Medical Director of Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, Prof. Chizindu Alikor, targeted vulnerable groups and aimed to expand access to essential medical services within the community.

Dr. Oreh highlighted special provisions under the Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme for the elderly, pregnant women, children under five, and persons with disabilities. She reaffirmed that improving healthcare access remains a priority of the administration of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The Commissioner also inspected facilities at the Primary Health Care Centre and Zonal Hospital in Isiokpo to assess infrastructure gaps and identify areas needing urgent improvement.
She later held a media parley with health correspondents, discussing key initiatives, ongoing challenges, and the government’s strategies for advancing public health. The engagement underscored the state’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and community involvement in shaping health policies.
