The leader of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force, Alhaji Dokubo Asari has told Ijaw women in Abuja that he can not promise them appointments in this current administration led by President Bola Tinubu.

He said a lot of hungry people are in this administration who would do anything to sabotage other people’s efforts, but promised to assist them on trade.

Asari made this known at a meeting with the Abuja-based Ijaw women at the weekend.

According to him: “Whatever you want me to do, feel free to approach me. If I can do it, I will tell you. If I can not do it, I will also tell you.

“Regarding appointments, I can not promise anybody an appointment, because, there are many hungry people in this government. And they will do everything to make sure they sabotage other people’s efforts.

“So, I can not promise you what I don’t have. Is only what I have in my hand I can promise you.

“If you want to go into trade, I can assist. If you form a cooperative society, I can talk with the leadership of NDDC and you will get assistance.

“If it is employment for the younger ones, we can throw our weight around to make it possible.”

In their separate speeches, the women thanked Asari for promising to assist them on trade and assured him of their daily prayers for him.
