Rivers APC spokesperson, Chris Finebone tenders resignation letter

The Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Senibo Chris Finebone, has officially resigned from the party.

Finebone’s resignation comes three days after his rumoured defection to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following a viral photo with Governor Nyesom Wike, the Rivers governorship candidate of the PDP, Siminalayi Fubara, and Dr. Davies Ikanya, the former Chairman of APC in the state.

In the resignation letter dated August 12, 2022, and addressed to the Chairman of Ward 6, Opobo-Nkoro local government area, refused to give reasons for dumping the party.

The letter read partly, “I am not one to go public with the reasons for my resigning from APC, just as I did not give anyone reasons for joining the party. However, all I can say is encapsulated in the words of a 17th-century poet and dramatist, John Dryden:

“Must I at length the Sword of Justice draw?
“Oh curst Effects of necessary law!
“How all my fear they by my, Mercy scan,
“Beware the fury of a patient man.”

Finebone, who was also one of the dignitaries that graced the Commissioning of Rivers State Assembly Quarters last Friday, had slammed the state Governor for alleged negligence following an outbreak of Measles in the Abua-Odua local government area of the State that resulted in the death of over 50 persons.
