Suspected ritualists behead man in Bayelsa community

A 37 years old man, has lost his life after he was reportedly beheaded by suspected ritualists by the gate of the Living Faith Church at the Elebele community in Ogbia Local Government area of Bayelsa State.

It was gathered that the deceased, identified as Anthony Egbo, security personnel attached to the church and an indigene of Elebele community, was killed in the wee hours of Wednesday.

It was also learnt that a top official of the place of worship first saw the mutilated corpse with the head severed from the body and the throat was missing.

Confirming the incident, the Youth President of Elebele Community, Famous Egbo, said the corpse of the deceased was discovered at about 5.50 am.

“When people saw him, he was beheaded. His throat was missing. People suspected that it may be a ritual killing,” he stated.

The State Police spokesperson, Asinim Butswat, also confirmed the killing.
