No less than 10 persons have died during a stampede at the Port Harcourt Polo club.
It was gathered that a church, Kings Assembly International, set up a Free shopping programme’, A Public Gift Giveaway event aimed at helping the less privileged in the society.
Eyewitnesses said thousands of persons gathered at the venue as early as 5:00AM and were trying to force their way into the premises resulting to a stampede and deaths.
Among the dead include a pregnant woman and her three children.
Other persons who were injured were rushed to the hospital.
