Soludo apologises for fight between Obiano’s wife, Ojukwu’s widow at inauguration

Wife of outgoing Gov. Willie Obiano, Ebelechukwu, on Thursday reportedly slapped Widow of late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Bianca at the swearing ceremony of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo as the governor of Anambra.

Reports from the scene of the event said the incident occurred immediately after Soludo took his oath of office.

It was gathered that dignitaries including Ex-Governor Obiano were already seated when Mrs Obiano moved to where Bianca Ojukwu was seated and engaged in a brawl with her.

The incident drew the attention of those in attendance, including security operatives, who led Mrs Obiano out of the event, NAN.

Meanwhile, the newly sworn-in Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has apologised to all Anambra people, friends, and guests present at the event for the unfortunate incident, which he said, “took the shine off the main event of the day”.

A statement by his Media Aide, Joe Anatune, said the scuffle was caused by improper communication which arose from a personal issue between the two parties involved.

According to him, the breach which disrupted proceedings at the event happened after the wife of the former governor, Ebelechukwu Obiano, approached Mrs Bianca Ojukwu and muttered some words.

He maintained that efforts were being taken to resolve the misunderstanding.
