The 2015 All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate in Rivers State, Dr Dakuku Peterside has said that for seven years, Governor Nyesom Wike did nothing to consider the welfare of Rivers People.
Dakuku, who was reacting to Wike’s Stomach Infrastructure statement, said his unguarded statement showed that he has been busy acquiring properties for himself.
The former boss of the Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) said the governor is building multiple flyovers at the expense of rural development, human capital development among other things.
According to him, the constructions were a classic case of misplaced priorities driven by greed while noting that Wike will soon find out that Rivers people are no fools.
The APC chieftain said the flyovers were built with no traffic study, no future projections and no budgetary provision.
He noted that unemployment and poverty are on the rise in the state as well as other forms of crisis, which have left the people improvised.
Dakuku maintained that Wike’s Stomach Infrastructure is a way to make people identify with his presidential aspiration, adding that Rivers people are smarter than that.
