Mother declares daughter missing after she disappeared with stranger in Ozuoba market

A 13-year-old daughter, Rejoice Otobo has been declared missing after she was last seen on Saturday at Ozuoba market in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Speaking to journalists on Tuesday in Port Harcourt, the mother of the victim, Florence Abe, disclosed that she had sent her daughter to the market in the company of her younger brother, who returned home alone.

Abe disclosed that her son said his sister was approached by a man in the market and went missing afterwards.

She said the boy told her that the man called her daughter’s name and told her that he had something for her to give to her aunty.

According to her, “Her brother came back and I asked him about the whereabouts of his sister. He said that the brother (man) called her name. She then turned and greeted the person.

He told me that the man said he spoke with my younger sister, Furo and that Furo asked him to give her (my daughter) something, that she should come and take the thing.

“So, she followed him. Till today, I have not set my eyes on my daughter.”

The mother of two said was wearing a black top and a red skirt on the day she went missing.

She further described her as tall and dark.

The spokesman of the state police command, Nnamdi Omoni, who could not confirm the incident advised the woman to make an official report to the police.
