Some communities in Ahoada West Local Government Area in Rivers State have cried out over the absence of schools and other social amenities in the area. They are calling on the government to come to their aid.

Locals from Ikodi and Tunusha communities, in the Engenni Kingdom of the LGA are appealing for the intervention of the Rivers state government in providing good roads, electricity, and to rehabilitate the dilapidated primary and secondary schools in the area.

In an interview with TPCN on Monday, a community leader, chief Boma Glad Ase, lamented that the bad roads have really affected the easy movement of humans and goods.

He also said the only existing secondary school in the community was built from money contributed by members of the community.

Also, the youth president of Ikodi community, Andrew Didi, said that with the dilapidated state of the roads in the area, traders do not have a smooth access in and out of the village.

He also said locals go to other villages just to charge their phones and radios.

Efforts to get the Rivers State government to respond has not been successful.
