Rivers United snatch a home win in NPFL match day 18

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday eighteen game across various match venues saw Ifeanyi Ubah FC, Rangers, Abia Warriors and Heartland FCs losing their away games.

Warri Wolves 3-1 Ifeanyi Ubah

Goals from Uche Ihuarulam 5’ (penalty), Jackson Eru 20’, and Emeka Uzor 70’ were all it took for the Stanley Eguma’s boys to take the maximum points at the Adokiye Amaesiamaka’s stadium in Port Harcourt. Christian Molokwu, however, scored a consolation goal for FC Ifeanyi Ubah in the 76th minute.

Katsina United 1-2 Kwara United

In Katsina, the Changi Boys suffered a home loss in the hands of Kwara United.

Afeez Nasiru opened the scoring for the Afonja Boys before Joseph Atule knocked in Faisal Sani’s pass for Katsina’s equaliser in the 30th minute. But Michael Ohanu’s goal made the difference and ensured the visitors left with the maximum points.

Nasarawa United 5-3 Abia Warriors

Silas Nwankwo’s hat-trick, Ikenna Offor, and Chinedu Ohanachom’s goals were the flavour needed to sweeten the ‘Solid Miners’ win, despite a brace from Fatai Abdullahi and a goal from Godwin Obaje for Abia Warriors.

Plateau United 2-1 Rangers

At the Jos Stadium, Plateau United recorded a 2-1 victory over the Rangers.

Oche Ochowechi and Daniel Itodo gave the Peace Boys a two-goal advantage, but Godspower Aniefiok’s 16th-minute strike was not enough to salvage a point for the Antelopes.

Akwa United 3-0 Lobi Stars

Ikechukwu Nwani and Mfon Udoh were on song as Akwa United coasted to a 3-0 victory in a one-sided game against Lobi Stars at the Godswill Akpabio’s stadium in Uyo.

Rivers United 1-0 Sunshine Stars

Godwin Aguda delivered the winning goal for Rivers United as they won 1-0 against Sunshine Stars.

Kano Pillars 2-1 Heartland

Rabiu Ali and EbukaDavid’s goals were enough to give the Sai Masu Gida the much-needed 3 points against Heartland in Kano. This is despite Chidera Eze’s 39th-minute goal.

Adamawa 0-0 Wikki Tourists

Adamawa United failed to score as Wikki Tourists held on for a 0-0 draw in Gombe.
