In another show of extravagance, the Rivers state government has given new cars to commissioners in the state’s Independent Electoral Commission, few weeks to crucial local government elections.
The car donations followed similar donations to the judiciary; and state and national assembly members.
Residents criticised the donation on social media, calling it unfortunate, especially when the state parades one of the highest numbers of unemployed youths in the country.
