Sportsville Communications has nominated the sports-loving Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike for the maiden Sportsville Award.

The Award is in recognition of his hard work, development of sports in Nigeria as well as dedication to nation-building.

In an official communiqué signed by the Chairman of the organization, Frank Ilaboya said the award is Sportsville’s own way of appreciating those doing well to take Nigerian sports to greater heights.

He added that the awards would be an annual event to reward excellence.

The award will be presented to about 10 carefully selected sports personalities across the country including the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shuaibu, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Melvin Pinnick and his counterpart in the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) Engr Musa Kida are also listed to be honoured.

Others include NWFL chairperson Aisha Falode, Enyimba Chairman, Felix Anyansi Agwu, Chairman of Monimichelle, Nigeria’s leading stadium facilities construction outside, Ebi Egbe, veteran sports journalist cum media icon, Dr. Larry Izamoje of Brilla FM, President of Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) Engr Habu Gumel. and Super Eagles number one supporter, Dr. Rafiu Ladipo.

The event will take place on Saturday, January, 30 at the Ibis Royale Hotel in Lagos.
