Police brutalize popular artist, Arinze Stanley in Port Harcourt

Florence Uwaeme

Arinze Stanley, a Lagos based artist has taken to his Twitter handle to narrate his ordeal in the hands of the Nigerian police in Port Harcourt after being in the city for less than a day.

Stanley lamented in his tweet that he is likely to go blind on his right eye.

He wrote, “Yesterday was my first day in Port Harcourt and there’s already a 50/50 chance that I’m going to be blind on my right eye because of the Nigerian police. I went to the police to report as late as 10 pm.”

He further alleged that nothing has been done to the policeman responsible for his predicament even after he reported to the area command in charge.

“As I type this with my left eye that has only begun to function, the policeman that did this hasn’t been arrested.. His colleagues who were with him have refused to give out his identity. The area command that I went to report this case has done absolutely nothing! I don’t even know who to tag on this issue. This is the second time I’m feeling this helpless after force Brutality.”

Recall that last weekend, a young man Sleek, was shot four times by the same uniformed men in Port Harcourt.
