Finally, police arrest wanted notorious kidnapper, Bobosky in Rivers

A wanted notorious kidnapper, Bobosky has been arrested by a combined team of local vigilante group and the police in Korokoro-Tai, Tai Local government area of Rivers State.

A police source said the dreaded cult leader was arrested at about 2:30 am Saturday while his second in command was gunned down during the operation.

Governor Nyesom Wike had on August 8, 2019, placed a 30 million naira Bounty for on anyone who gives useful information that will lead to the arrest of the notorious criminal.

But barely 24 hours after Wike placed the N30million bounty on Bobrisky, the Nigerian Army said they had captured the fugitive crime lord, with Governor Wike confirming that he will redeem the pledge.

Wike later thanked the Nigerian Army for capturing the suspected cultist.

He said: “The Army has captured Bobrisky of Gokana. I will pay the bounty that I promised to the Nigerian Army.

“Anyone who generates insecurity in Rivers State, I am ready to pay any amount to ensure the arrest of that person”.

Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mukan while briefing newsmen today at the headquarters of the State Police command, Moscow road, Port Harcourt said that operatives of the command were acting on credible intelligence operation with local vigilante group who stormed the hideout of the kidnapper at Korokoro community in Tai Local Government.

He said that on sighting the security operatives, the wanted kidnapper opened fire and in exchange of gunfire, his driver was fatally injured while Bobosky was arrested.

CP Mukan chronicled some of the criminal activities of Boboski to include Kidnap of Barrister Emelogu who was killed after ransom was paid.

He also said Bobosky was responsible for the killing of Divisional Crime Officer Afam Division, SP Moses Egbede and the killing of a soldier and personnel of Civil Defence at Gio pipeline in Ogoni last year.

CP Mukan said Bobosky was also responsible for the killing of two Policemen at a Federal Highway at Botem among others.

CP Mukan assured members of the public of the determination of the command to rid the state of criminals.

The dreaded gang leader died few hours after his arrest.
