Rivers begins demolition of houses at Rumuola for flyover-bridge expansion

Rivers State Government has resumed the demolition of houses at Rumuola junction to make way for the expansion of the bridge.

The contract for the expansion of the bridge which was constructed by the Peter Odili’s administration was awarded to the German Construction giant, Julius Berger in June. The State Government did not make public the contract cost.

Landlords whose buildings were destroyed by the government said adequate compensations were paid for them to vacate their properties but not enough to settle their tenants whose businesses where disrupted by the demolition.
