Rivers has highest regional covid-19 recoveries

With 739 recorded infections and 408 active cases, Rivers has the highest covid-19 recoveries in the Niger Delta region, posting 304 recoveries and 27 deaths.

This is against Edo state which has 748 infections, 556 active cases, 161 recoveries and 31 deaths.

Delta comes third with 418 infections, 282 active cases, 119 recoveries and 17 deaths.

Akwa Ibom us fourth with 65 infections 23 active cases, 40 recoveries and 2 deaths.

Bayelsa is fifth with 128 infections, 90 active cases, 29 recoveries and 9 deaths.

Cross River has not recorded any case so far, a trend attributed to lack of testing.

Meanwhile, on the 19th of June 2020, 667 new confirmed cases and 12 deaths were recorded in Nigeria by the Center for Disease Control, NCDC.

Till date, 19,147 cases have been confirmed, 6581 cases have been discharged and 487 deaths have been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The 667 new cases are reported from 23 states- Lagos (281), Abia (48), Oyo (45), FCT,(38), Ogun (37), Enugu (31), Ondo (23), Plateau (21), Edo (19), Delta (18), Rivers (18), Bayelsa (17), Akwa Ibom (17), Kaduna(14), Kano (12), Bauchi (9) Gombe (4), Osun (3), Benue (3), Nasarawa (3), Kwara (3), Ekiti (2), Borno (1)
