The Rivers state-born Nollywood actress, Tonto Dike, has taken to her Instagram handle to lament over her ordeals in the hands of people she and her team are trying to help.

Recall that since the beginning of the lockdown in Lagos state, the actress has, through her Tonto Dike Foundation(TDF) been reaching out to people with palliatives in different parts of Lagos state.

After sharing a video of the crowd that came to partake in the sharing, she also lamented that the crowd is getting out of control and are not adhering to the social distancing order. She said even with the presence of security personnel, they were run over by the crowd.

She wrote “no matter how you try to get these people organized as a foundation, once it’s free stuff, they will never even listen to you. We tried our best even with security personnel on ground to practice social distancing, all to no avail. Our gate was pulled down and the crowd ran in, hurt us and took stuff… But this wouldn’t stop us…”

She said due to the crowd’s unruly behavior, her foundation will now be concentrating on children who are easier to control.

“… we are concentrating on kids now that we can manage to a certain level. We have tried door to door, we got mobbed, we have tried community sharing, it didn’t work… As a foundation, we are even scared to go out, but WE MUST.”
