With the ongoing lockdown in Rivers state, it has become difficult for residents of the state to survive, especially those market men and women who feed from hand to mouth.

Although the state government announced its plans to distribute palliatives to residents of the state, the promise is yet to come alive as a committee that would oversee the distribution was just inaugurated today.

Mater Misericordiae catholic church located at number 2 Arochukwu street, Rumuomasi has shared relief materials to her parishioners.

The relief materials which include rice, yam, tin tomatoes, garri and other food stuff were seen set 5 meters apart at the church premises.

Recall that yesterday, being Sunday 5th day of April, the state governor during a state-wide broadcast ordered that some markets should be opened to traders and buyers alike in order for them to shop for the Easter celebration and stock-up there already exhausting essentials.
