N150bn: Abia group asks EFCC to prosecute T.A Orji, son

Abians for Equity, a socio-cultural group in Abia state has urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to be determined in its probe of the former governor and current senator, Theodore Orji.

Orji, who ruled the state for 8 years was accused by the commission of looting about N150 billion from the state’s treasury from 2007 to 215 when he governed of the state.

The group lamented that the reign of T.A Orji has greatly affected the state, adding that the state is now in a state of misery, squalor, poverty and pity. Going further, they alleged that Abia remains the only state that is battered beyond measure with impunity by the said family.

The group asked the EFCC to tidy up their investigation and ensure justice is done for the benefit of Abia people.

They insisted if Orji Uzor Kalu could be jailed for stealing, then there is no reason why T.A Orji and his son should not be made to account for the money they allegedly misappropriated while ruining Abia for the past 13 years.

The group also insisted that Abians are waiting and watching what the EFCC would do.
