Nwanosike gives quit notice to hoodlums in Ikwerre

Chairman of Ikwerre local government area of Rivers State, Hon. Samuel Nwanosike has given quit notice to unrepentant hoodlums terrorising the area to leave or turn a new leaf.

Ikwerre local government area is the host to several federal institutions and agencies, including the University of Port Harcourt, the Port Harcourt International Airport and the Nigerian Navy Intelligence School.

Nwanosike spoke with newsmen at Elele Town, on the sideline of the closing ceremonies of the Operation Crocodile Smile IV, by the 6 Division, Nigerian Army.

He said: “I seize this opportunity to call on the hoodlums who are bent in perpetrating evil in the lives of the people of Ikwerre local government that they have no hiding place.

“They have only one option to either surrender and live peacefully with the people or stay away from our communities because we are peace-loving people.”

The Council Chairman expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-General Tukur Buratai, for replacing the burnt car of the traditional ruler of Elele Town, Eze Jonathan Amadi, stressing that the hoodlums and their sponsors who masterminded the act must be brought to book.

Nwanosike pledged to work with the new Grand Officer Commanding (GOC), 6 Division of the Nigeria Army, Major-General Felix Aguguo, and his team in fighting insecurity to a standstill in Ikwerre local government area.

He thanked a prominent indigene of EleleTown, Sir Mike Elechi, for all the supports he has been rendering to the officers of the Nigerian Army in the area.
