Reactions trail Wike’s ‘Ntoor Video’, aide says video doctored

Controversy over the alleged mocking of other Local Government Areas and ethnic groups by the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has continued to divide opinions on so media with many, especially from the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, accusing the governor of insensitivity.

Wike during his reception by Ogbakor Ikwerre, a socio-political organization of the Ikwerre Ethnic Nationality, on Saturday, reportedly mocked those complaining that his developmental strides are only felt in two local government areas of Port Harcourt and Obio-Akpor, doing a mocking gesture of tongue out for them.

A live video made by Wike’s aide and inlaw, Marshal Obuzor showed the governor lamenting that he is being criticised for constructing three flyovers in Obio/Akpor and Port Harcourt, noting that if he had his way, he would construct ten.

Rivers State has 23 local government areas and indigenes of other local government areas, especially the riverine areas say they are not feeling the impact of Wike’s administrations in their areas.

The controversy generated by the video has once more pitched the opposition APC against Wike’s government.

Rivers is known for its high political tension.

But Obuzor claimed that the video was doctored.

“I just listened to a severely manipulated audio where Governor Wike’s address at his reception by Ogbakor Ikwerre Organization was made to sound as if he was spitting other Rivers people.

“I was also informed that our Minister was angry after watching the event and gave the go-ahead for the video to be produced and released.

“It is also being shared on Rivers APC platforms with an instruction that it is from their leader.

“Personally I wish we can grow above this level of divisive lies and propaganda.

“I would soon release a video showing a correct representation of what was said by Governor Wike.

“After watching the video you would realise that the Governor’s statement is actually at polar with the lies they are trying to spread”.
