The senior pastor of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, on Sunday, pledged to sponsor the education of one thousand (1000) children in the rural areas in Nigeria, who due to lack of funds are out of school.

He said this is his personal contribution to the development of the society.

Ibiyeomie pledged to pay each child the sum of fifty thousand (50,000) naira as educational sponsorship.

He also announced the completion and opening of Salvation Ministries’ free primary school which is said to be equipped with state of the art facilities.

The primary school which is located at number 100 Aggrey Road old Port Harcourt Township, brings the number of free schools in the state to 14. The rest are operated by Omega Power Ministry, OPM.

According to the pastor, the free school is set to begin operations from the next academic session in January.

This definitely is a good step towards the church’s contribution to the development of humanity through education in Nigeria. ” This indeed is a welcome development in our society. And we wish other pastors and churches would key into this type of project for the sake of improving their communities” Clarence Johnson of the centre for community development said.
