Breaking: Nigerians disrupt sales at Shoprite’s outlet in Lagos over xenophobia attacks (Pictures)

Angry women on Tuesday disrupted sales at Shoprite #CircleMall Lekki in retaliation to the ongoing xenophobic attacks against Nigerians and other Africans in South Africa.

An Eyewitness told theportcitynews that the women invaded the premises around 4: 00 pm, removing products from shelves and dumping them on the ground.

There have been calls by Nigerians on Social media for the country to retaliate by attacking South African businesses operating in Nigeria.

The federal government on Tuesday queried the High Commission of South Africa to Nigeria, Bobby Monroe, who denied reports of Xenophobic attacks against Nigerians in the country.

The envoy at a media briefing with Nigeria’s foreign affairs ministry headed by Geoffery Onyeama denied that the attacks in South Africa are xenophobic and targetted at Nigerians.

He described the attacks as ‘sporadic acts of violence’ adding that businesses belonging to other South Africans were also affected in the violence.

Geoffrey Onyeama, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, on Tuesday, had summoned the South African High Commissioner to Nigeria following the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and other African South Africa.
