I don’t regret rejecting car gift – Etche Vice-Chairman

Kelechi Kas

The controversy trailing the rejection of an official car gift by the vice chairman of Etche LGA, Mrs Uche Ken Ndukwu, may be far from over as the vice chairman has taken jibes at her critics who described her as not loyal and greedy for rejecting the car gift.

But the deputy council boss said she reserves the right to accept or reject a gift even if it is coming from the council boss himself.

Furthermore, Mrs. Ken maintained that the council boss, Hon Obinna Elvis Anyawu, ought to have sought her opinion before purchasing the car.

She added that the council boss has no right what so ever to suspend her as she was ‘handpicked’ by the Member Representing Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency, Chief Ephraim Nwuzi.

On his part, Hon. Obinna Elvis Anyawu has declined to make any personal public statement regarding the matter although his aid on Electronic media, Mr. Nwoko Ugochukwu, has condemned the action of the vice chairman stating that it is a show of disloyalty after waiting over a year to receive the official vehicle.
