Naira Marley’s ‘Soapy’; A Push Towards Masturbatory Activism

After Afeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley was released from detention by the men of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the release of his song which promotes cybercrime, alternatively known as ‘Yahoo’. I can boldly say that the artist is enjoying his controversial lifestyle after making headlines for the wrong reasons, hence the release of his new song titled ‘Soapy’ with its own dance step.

‘Soapy’ is a type of dance step that sees the dancer make masturbatory gestures while humping behind anything in sight. Be it a table, woman, tree or a fellow man.

According to Naira Marley, what inspired him to do the song and introduce the dance step was his encounter behind the bars. He claims that the song is aimed towards discouraging crime amongst young people in order to prevent them from being sent behind bars which will lead to them embracing soapy masturbation instead of the vagina. How this is an encouragement for young men to say no to crime, I am yet to comprehend.

Now, what baffles me is that he did not see the sanitary condition of the Ikoyi prison to advocate for, neither did he see the malnutrition in the prison to advocate for, not the health but the conjugal rights of prisoners is of paramount importance to him.

This is what happens when the people in charge of media regulations are rather busy chasing people with different opinions about their paymasters instead of doing their job.

What this ‘Soapy’ song is simply about is to encourage grown men and young ones alike to go ahead and masturbate in public and nitwitted cretins who call themselves Marlians are jumping up and down in celebration of the moral decadence in Nigeria.
Do we not think about the younger generation? When your ten-year-old son/daughter asks you what the ‘soapy’ dance is about, hope you can explain what the song means without being embarrassed.

Naira Marley’s ‘Soapy’ should not only be banned from airing on any of our media houses, but the artist should also be bundled and sent to a psychiatric hospital for rehabilitation.
