Former Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden, has promised to cure cancer if elected in 2020.

The former Vice President was speaking at an event in Ottumwa, Iowa, on Tuesday to a packed house.

Biden, whose son Beau died from brain cancer back in 2015, called finding a cure for the disease the ‘single most important thing that changes America’.

According to him: ‘A lot of you understand what loss is.

‘When a loss occurs a lot of people come up to you and say “I know how you feel”. But you feel like saying “You have no idea how I feel”.’

He added: ‘I promise you if I’m elected president, you’re going to see the single most important thing that changes America, we’re gonna cure cancer.’
