Abonnema-Obonoma seashore gets face-lift

The Abonnema – Obonoma water front is undergoing rapid face-lift and environmental changes after the orgy of violence that characterised the 2019 Presidential election which left at least 37 persons dead in the area.

Report from environmental experts detailed the headquarter as one of the most environmental friendly terrain in the inception of Hon. Rowland Sekibo administration as the Executive Chairman of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area.

Within two weeks work commenced at the water front as instructed by the Chairman of the Local Government Area, which the Chief of Staff to the Council adhered strictly and deployed required manpower to the site for the cleaning of the Abonnema seashore.

The chief of staff to Council Hon. Ibitroko Briggs while supervising the level of work done, appreciated the workers for their efforts and urged them to be prompt to duty at all times.

He also called on the workers to work hard to ensure the fulfilling of the Chairman’s vision in the area of Environment as health is wealth.

The Chief of Staff, while addressing the press reaffirmed Government’s commitment in making sure Sanitation and other Health related issues are provided for, including provision of social amenities to be given full attention and financed by Hon. Rowland Sekibo led Administration.

He also called on other party supporters and all men of goodwill to endeavor to honour the clarion call by the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesome Wike to sheaths their swords and work towards peace and development of the Local Government Area and State at large.
