A few days ago on Facebook, a man’s write-up on his Facebook wall about how his intended bride called off their supposed wedding which was slated to hold on the 20th of April in Port Harcourt went viral. Although he refused to state in details why his intended bride called off the wedding, he only attributed it to just a popular phrase “irreconcilable differences” common amongst tired partners who have chosen to go their separate ways.
While some people commiserated with his hard fate, others decided to question his ability to take care of a woman, hence his bride’s refusal to wed him. Some people have also decided to not comment on the matter until they’ve heard from the bride’s mouth before placing judgment on any of them. Some other people were rather angry with him for not giving them the whole gist.
There are so many reasons why a lady can call off her own wedding. What if she found out that her intended husband is impotent? Aye! If you find out a few days to your wedding that your husband to be (the one you intend spending the rest of your life with) is lacking in action in his nether region, would you still go ahead with the wedding? Please do not say that this isn’t possible. When you put into consideration that the brother is ‘churchy’, you will see reasons with me.
Another reason someone could call off a wedding is if she finds out she has been lied to about sensitive topics. What if he lied to her about his finances? What if he lied to her about his accommodation? What if he is neck-deep in debt and refused to tell her?
The list of reasons for one to call his/her wedding off is endless. Although the groom apologized to his friends and well-wishers for the disappointment, especially those who have in one way or the other made commitments towards the wedding. He, however, declared that the proposed bachelor’s eve which was tagged ‘Night of Tongues’ was still going to hold despite the cancellation of the wedding.
