Abe vs APC, INEC: Tonye Cole asks to be joined in suit as interested party

A federal high court sitting in Port Harcourt, on Thursday, adjourned till December 11th 2018 for hearing on the case brought before it by Sen Magnus Abe and others.

Abe, the senator representing Rivers South East in the nationals assembly and all candidates of the prince Peter Odike faction who emerged through direct primaries are praying to be declared the validly nominated candidates of All Progressive Congress for 2019 gubernatorial, senatorial, house of representatives and state house of assembly elections in the state.

Tonye Cole, the factional candidate of the party through his counsel Tuduru Ede, brought an application seeking to be joined as interested party in the matter.

However, in the originating processes, the matter was instituted by Sen Magnus Abe and other candidates as the plaintiff while APC and INEC are respondents in the matter.

The court in its ruling ordered all parties seeking to be joined as an interested party in the matter to file and serve their applications within 24hrs for the respondents to respond on or before Monday, December 10th 2018.

The court adjourned to December 11th 2018 to entertain all pending applications and for definite hearing on the substantive matter.
