Aiteo Cup: Rivers Angels set to crush Sunshine Queens

Rivers Angels will play Sunshine Queens of Akure in the quarter-finals of the Aiteo Cup competition in Lafia.
The last time both sides met in a cup tie was in 2016 at the semi-finals stage of the competition with the Jewel of Rivers winning two goals to one.

Rivers Angels are favourites coming into this after winning the title for a record seven times.

Speaking ahead of today’s game, the acting captain of Rivers Angels, Tochukwu Oluehi, said they expect a tough game but believes her side will be victorious.

 

Tochukwu Oluehi also said their one week stay in Lafia would be an added advantage for her side ahead of today’s clash with Sunshine Queens.

 

”We have been here for over one week and the fans have been coming to see us train every day and I’m pretty sure that they will cheer for us today”.

 

All we need to do is to crown everything up with an outright win and wait for the next round” she said.

 

”The Aiteo Cup is a different ball game which we have to come all out for and leave no stone unturned. With the level of preparations, zeal, and skill in camp, I’m confident we will make it to the next round” she added.

 

Also speaking, Rivers Angels midfielder, Yetunde Adeboyejo said she expects an easy game against their opponents in Lafia.

 

”We are very determined and focused ahead of today’s game. we will be approaching the game from what we have been taught in training” she said.

 

”So the spirit in the camp is very high and I know it will be an easy encounter for us” she stated.
